Think of all the activities — both in and outside of school — that you have been involved with during high school. Which one are you most proud of and why?
Throughout my entire time in high school, hockey has been a consistent factor of my life. From playing recreationally in 9th grade to joining a travel team and playing at a higher level, to becoming a major part of my job, hockey is my pride and joy and one of the most influential things for me as a person.
I only started to play hockey in my 8th grade year, but since then I have made significant progress in my ability, being able to play at a competitive level nationally, as well as represent my high school at the varsity level.
I’m proud of it mostly because it has always been a reflection of the best qualities of myself. Hockey forces one to be focused, hardworking, and communicative, all of which are things I strive to be and hockey has not only forced those values out of me during the game, but it has trained me to continue having them for the rest of my life outside of hockey. On top of that, in my time playing hockey, I’ve improved significantly, going from an admittedly bad player in rec league to a top line hockey player on a travel team, one of my biggest accomplishments during high school.
